Press Your Luck 2019 - Whammy leaning

2019 reboot version

This is one of the most well-known whammies.

Square Positions

Round 1

  • Square 7 (September 1983 to the series finale)

Round 2

  • Square 12 (September 1983 to August 1984)
  • Square 17 (September 1983 to February 1985)
  • Square 16 (moved down from Square 17 in February 1985 and swapped spots with $600. Stayed in Square 16 until the series finale)

Trivia

  • Of all the original five Whammy poses used on Whammy slides, this is the only one which was not a frame in the Hammer Whammy animation, which was used in the May 1983 pilot, during the first five months of the CBS series in addition to March and April 1985. This is also seen in the closing plugs during each episode.
  • For at least the first seven taped episodes, there was a reversed version of this slide appeared in Square 5 during the intro. It is unknown if this was human error on the producers' part, but it did switch to the more common version sometime during the second week of the series.
